Account Settings

Manage your BrandCast account settings, profile information, security preferences, and notification options.

Overview

The Account Settings area lets you control all aspects of your BrandCast account, including:

  • Personal profile information
  • Security and authentication
  • Notification preferences
  • Account preferences
  • Data and privacy settings

Accessing Account Settings

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  2. Select Account Settings from the dropdown
  3. Or navigate directly via SettingsAccount

Profile Management

Basic Information

Update your personal details and display preferences:

Editable Fields:

  • Display Name - How your name appears to team members
  • Email Address - Primary contact and login email
  • Phone Number - For support and security verification
  • Time Zone - Affects scheduling and timestamps
  • Language - Interface language preference

To update your profile:

  1. Go to SettingsAccountProfile
  2. Click Edit Profile
  3. Update desired fields
  4. Click Save Changes

Profile Photo

Add or change your profile photo:

  1. Click the camera icon on your current photo
  2. Choose an option:
    • Upload Photo - Select from your computer
    • Take Photo - Use your webcam
    • Remove Photo - Reset to default initials
  3. Adjust and crop as needed
  4. Click Save

Photo Requirements:

  • JPG, PNG, or GIF format
  • Maximum 5MB file size
  • Recommended: Square image, minimum 200x200 pixels

Organization Information

If you're an account admin, update organization details:

Organization Settings:

  • Company name
  • Industry type
  • Company size
  • Primary contact
  • Billing address
  • Tax ID (if applicable)

Security Settings

Password Management

Change Your Password:

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity
  2. Click Change Password
  3. Enter current password
  4. Enter new password (must meet requirements)
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Click Update Password

Password Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one number
  • One special character recommended

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable 2FA for enhanced security:

Setup Process:

  1. Go to SettingsSecurityTwo-Factor Authentication
  2. Click Enable 2FA
  3. Choose authentication method:
    • Authenticator App (recommended)
    • SMS Text Message
    • Email Code
  4. Follow setup instructions
  5. Save backup codes securely

Using Authenticator App:

  1. Install app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
  2. Scan the QR code displayed
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from app
  4. Click Verify and Enable

Managing 2FA:

  • View backup codes
  • Regenerate backup codes
  • Change authentication method
  • Disable 2FA (requires password)

Login Sessions

Monitor and manage active sessions:

View Active Sessions:

  • Device type and browser
  • IP address and location
  • Last activity time
  • Current session indicator

Security Actions:

  • Sign Out Other Sessions - Logs out all devices except current
  • Sign Out Specific Session - End individual sessions
  • Review Suspicious Activity - Check for unauthorized access

Security Alerts

Configure security notifications:

  • New device login
  • Password changes
  • Unusual activity detected
  • Failed login attempts
  • Account permission changes

Email Notifications

Control which emails you receive:

System Notifications:

  • Critical system alerts

  • Login from new device

  • Permission changes

Usage Alerts:

  • Quota warnings (75%, 90%, 100%)
  • Storage approaching limit
  • Display offline notifications

In-App Notifications

Configure notifications within BrandCast:

Display Settings:

  • Show desktop notifications
  • Play notification sounds
  • Show notification badges
  • Auto-dismiss after (5/10/30 seconds)

Notification Types:

  • Real-time display status changes
  • Content upload completions
  • Schedule changes
  • Team mentions and comments

Notification Schedule

Set quiet hours for non-critical notifications:

  1. Enable Do Not Disturb
  2. Set schedule:
    • Start time (e.g., 6:00 PM)
    • End time (e.g., 9:00 AM)
    • Days of week
  3. Choose override options:
    • Allow critical alerts
    • Allow from specific team members

Customize your BrandCast interface:

Theme Options:

  • Light Mode - Default bright interface
  • Dark Mode - Reduced eye strain
  • Auto - Match system preference

Layout Settings:

  • Date format (MM/DD/YYYY vs. DD/MM/YYYY)
  • Time format (12-hour vs. 24-hour)
  • First day of week

Data and Privacy

Data Export

Export your BrandCast data:

Available Exports:

  • Account information
  • Content library metadata
  • Display configurations
  • User activity logs
  • Analytics data

Export Process:

  1. Go to SettingsData & Privacy
  2. Click Export My Data
  3. Select data types
  4. Choose format (CSV, JSON, PDF)
  5. Click Generate Export
  6. Download when ready (email notification sent)

Account Deletion

Before Deleting Your Account:

Consider these alternatives:

  • Pause Subscription - Temporarily stop billing
  • Transfer Ownership - Hand over to another team member
  • Export Data - Save your content and settings

Deletion Process:

  1. Go to SettingsData & Privacy
  2. Click Delete Account
  3. Review deletion consequences:
    • All displays will go offline
    • Content library will be deleted
    • Team access will be revoked
    • Billing will stop immediately
    • Action cannot be undone
  4. Type "DELETE" to confirm
  5. Enter password
  6. Click Delete Account Permanently

Grace Period:

  • 30-day recovery window
  • Contact support to restore
  • After 30 days, deletion is permanent

  1. Go to SettingsAPI
  2. Click Generate New Key

  5. Copy key immediately (shown only once)

Troubleshooting

Cannot Update Email

If email change fails:

  • Verify new email isn't already in use
  • Check for typos
  • Ensure email is valid format
  • Confirm verification email received

Cannot Save Settings

Common causes:

  • Lost internet connection
  • Session timeout
  • Insufficient permissions
  • Browser cache issues

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Log out and back in
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Try different browser

2FA Issues

Lost Access to 2FA Device:

  1. Use backup codes to login
  2. Go to Security settings
  3. Disable and re-enable 2FA
  4. Set up new device

Backup Codes Not Working:

  • Ensure entering correctly
  • Each code works only once
  • Contact support if all codes exhausted

Password Reset Problems

Not Receiving Reset Email:

  • Check spam/junk folder
  • Verify email address
  • Wait 5 minutes and retry
  • Contact support if persistent
